L'Europe
This oceanographic vessel is a 29.60 m catamaran operating in the Mediterranean Sea. Built in 1993 at Sables d’Olonnes (OCEA), she is a joint initiative between IFREMER and its Italian counterpart ICRAM.
L’Europe undertakes research missions related to fishing and the coastal environment in the Mediterranean Sea.
Missions
She is designed to undertake a variety of research missions related in particular to fishing and the coastal environment.
She can carry out deep conventional trawling (down to 1300 m), pelagic and experimental trawling, deploy static traps (gill nets, longlines, pots, etc.), and undertake works related to seismology, sedimentology and hydrology (sampling).
She is able to deployed ROV and A2UV (Ariane, AsterX, IdefX, Coral).
